I can remember about 15-20 years ago that we were going in this direction with an elected parish council and we were an involved council; unfortunately, we overstepped our bounds when we challenged the priest because of questionnable practices which went to the bishop and do you know whom he supported? You guessed it; we couldn't question one of "his" priests. Now we have a parish council but it is only an advisory council without any real power to change or enact anything.
